Here's the steps to make this work:
1. Apply a fresh gel base.
2. Cure in UV
3. Apply a gel color of your choice (in my application I did pink)
4. Cure in UV
5. Apply clear gel top-coat (this was my technique, its possible that this step is not necessary - feel free to experiment, but this worked for me)
6. Cure in UV
7. (If you are not using no-wipe top coat, which some people recommend) Wipe off the tackiness with a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol.
8. Apply the powder ... and here is the secret to make this actually work.... when applying, first wet a cotton ball with alcohol, and then lightly tap the applicator on the alcohol cotton ball - just lightly to barely moisten the applicator.
9. Dip the applicator in the powder and then wipe it on your nail. Using circular motion with a decent amount of pressure to buff to a mirrored finish.
10. Using a clean brush, brush any excess powder off around your nails and fingers (it will get everywhere, do this outside if you can)
11. Apply a clear gel top-coat, I recommend putting this last coat on a little thicker than normal to ensure you've covered all the powder, otherwise it may wipe off during the last step. (again, some have recommended a no-wipe top-coat, but I used a regular gel top-coat)
12. Cure in UV (be sure to fully cure this layer)
13. Lightly wipe off the tackiness of the top-coat with alcohol dipped cotton ball.
14. Make your friends jealous :)
